My Story

A Song of Trident Stars is a tale of disability, revenge, and the transcendental power of music. When rising Mexican pianist Reyna Nevasca looses her hand in a hurricane, she believes her days as a musician are over. Deeply aggrieved she is forced by her family to perform sham concerts on a ghostly stage… until she gains an unlikely ally who proposes a daring plan.

I pitched this as: “What if Davy Jones’ music-loving Kraken decided to produce his very own and unhinged A Star is Born with a powerful disabled piano prodigy?” Little Ghost Books was crazy and awesome enough to give it a home in this wonderful book and I’ll be forever grateful. While it is a fun and crazy ride, it is also a story where I processed my own Covid-caused disability; and writing it once again showed me how the unspeakable can sometimes be best expressed in the speculative.

The Publisher
